I love this picture. It is Boston's personality to a "T". He has a natural gift to know what is funny and I swear his comedic timing is perfect! I'm pretty sure the phrase "badda bing" or "ba dum dum-chi" will be somewhere in his first sentence. It's his knack in life so far....making us laugh, all the time. Enjoy the pic, I do!

Indian Names
Tonight while I was giving the boys their bath, I was compelled to bestow upon them their very own Indian names. The ones I came up with came to me pretty easily and if you know either of my boys, I think you will agree that they are perfect for them.
Boston~~~Crazy Squirrel

He never stops....ever.
He spins on the floor to purposefully make himself dizzy.
He's a blabber mouth.
He hits his head on/with things -quite hard and intentionally- then laughs about it.
He makes quick, abrupt movements no matter what he's doing.
He has spiky, erratic hair.
Ethan~~~Bossy Eagle

He hovers over anyone he feels isn't following the rules and relentlessly informs them of what they are doing wrong and how they should do it differently.
He's bossy.
He's anal about how things should be done.
He likes to be in charge.
Heaven help us!!

The Partay--Round Two!!
We had the fam over again for Boston's birthday and for cake and ice cream. We did the traditional stick-a-cake-in-front-of-a-baby-and-see-what-they-do thing. He didn't waste much time gettin' into it. We had a lot of fun with Boston today. We know he likes balloons...so we blew up a bunch of them and left them all over the floor. He was entertained by those for most of the afternoon. Then once everyone came, unsurprisingly, his favorite things were the wrapping paper, ribbon, hanger, and boxes. That's right...my one year old is the stereotypical little boy that likes the wrapping rather than the toy itself. Oh well. As long as he had fun. Then of course the cake. He was quite entertaining! One of the funniest things was seeing the bathtub after I washed all the icing off of him. Classic. All around a great day. Happy Birthday, Boston!!!

Trust my cute husband to turn this into something from a superhero story!

Take a long look....this is one of the only times I can guarantee there is no poop in there!!

Dedicated to my Boston
Today is my little Boston's birthday. I can't believe that he is already one!!! It seems like everything is going so much faster this time around than it did with Ethan. I wouldn't trade him for anything, though. He is a real sweetheart (and since he has started crawling...a real spit-fire, too!! Yes, the two of those descriptions CAN go together.)
His likes:
Teasing his older brother (i.e. swiping Ethan's woobie, crawling on top of Ethan when he's laying on the floor and giggling when he realizes that Ethan can't get up, and chasing Ethan around the house and grabbing at his clothes.)
Playing peek-a-boo
Attacking my hair any chance possible
Playing with his tongue and making funny noises
Giving sugar (kisses)
Crawling and pulling himself up on anything semi-stationary
Eating adult food....none of that wussy baby food for him!
His lovey (his favorite little blanket that gets taken everywhere.)
Snuggling
Being tickled
Babbling
Doing things intentionally to make us laugh
Playing anything with Ethan
Dancing
Playing ball
His dis-likes:
Bonking his head millions of times a day
Being told "No"
When it takes too long to get his milk
When Ethan closes all the doors in the house so he can't go in any of the rooms
It's no mistake that his "dis-like" list is much shorter than his "like" list. He such a great baby....maybe I should say little boy now. Happy Birthday, Bubbers!

I Got My Rough and Tumble Boy
I took these pictures literally twenty seconds after the incident happened. I still don't think they did the bump justice! Boston has had at least five times the bumps and bruises Ethan has had in his whole life since he's started crawling. Every day he adds to the brown marks all over his head. I think the problem is that he crawls around and uses his head to determine whether he has reached his destination yet. He drops his head and goes full speed until he bonks into the table, or the bed, or the couch. Most of the time he just wines a little and keeps going, but today it incapacitated him for a couple of minutes....then he was at it again! I think I got my rough and tumble little boy after all...(because we all know it skipped Ethan all together!)

He's A Travelin' Man
It's official! My little laid back Bubbers is crawling. It took Boston longer than it took Ethan to crawl, which really surprised me...I didn't know it could take any baby that long to crawl, let alone both of my babies! He started crawling at eleven months to the day. Watch out Ethan, he's comin' to get ya'!

He does this cute little stink bug butt-in-the-air thing. What a stud!

Look at that cleave! Not too much longer and you'll pass me up....way to go, son!

Goo!
A few days back I attempted to give Boston his first taste of yummy rice cereal goodness....as you can see in the pictures, he wasn't too thrilled. In all of the runny goo commotion, Boston did seem to realize that the spoon was the most interesting thing that he has seen to this day. Forget all of the toys and musical lights on all of his play things....no, this green spoon was amazing!! I honestly can't complain that he is so easily entertained...let's hope it continues for a few years when he only gets empty boxes for Christmas!! (obviously I'm kidding.....kind of.)

What Have I Done?!?!?
Saturday was haircut day at the Sorensen house and we decided not to leave little Boston out of the festivities. He had quite the mohawk going on and it was pretty untameable. I would try and slick it down and by the time it dried it stuck right back up. So I would try and make the mohawk stand up even more, since that is what it seemed to want to do, but when I did that it just went haywire. Boston's hair is usually the first thing people notice so I hope I haven't doomed the cutest baby, since his brother, to be ignored forever because his mommy butchered him with the hair clippers. I cut 2 1/2 inches off the top!!! Not bad for a four months old first hair cut, I suppose. He was so good during the whole thing, which doesn't surprise me since he's so laid back anyway. The only consolation I keep getting is that it will grow back. Let's just hope it's sooner than later!!

What's in a name?
Contrary to popular belief, we did not name Boston after the Red Sox (although we are fans and they did win the World Series while we were in the hospital with Boston). But we also did not name him Boston to spite my family who are huge Yankees fans (even though Jer likes to tease them and tell them so!) We just really liked it as a name and have been planning on naming our second boy Boston since Ethan was about 9 months old.
Boston's middle name is Craig, which is after my Dad (shown in the picture with a mask on.) I can still remember the look on his face that day at the hospital when I introduced my Dad to him as Boston Craig. He had the cutest little glimmer in his eye. We only hope that Boston doesn't turn out to be a little stinker like my Dad was when he was younger....he'll be a handful!

My Boys
I may be slightly biased, but I think this scene is the cutest I've ever seen. Boston was born October 27, 2007 at 5:43 PM. He weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces. He has a ton of hair and we can already tell he has an awesome personality. To see how excited, but how gentle Ethan was with Boston right after he was born was so sweet. I think he was a little disappointed when he first saw Boston because he didn't come out big enough to wrestle with. But other than that, Ethan really liked him. He also likes how everyone tells him that Boston looks just like him...which he does!
Isn't Jer the cutest Daddy!! Ahhh....I love my boys.
