My Husband the Cub Scout
Jer was just put in as first counselor in the bishopric and he and the other counselor thought it would be really fun to get a couple of pine wood derby cars...build them...and participate in the pine wood derby races that the cub scouts do. Jer used the band saw and made his car into the shape of a 2009 Cadillac CTS-V (and yes, he made sure that I new exactly what kind of car it was!) He got it all painted and ready, but didn't have time to weight it down. We showed up at the race and he hurried and taped his car keys to the top of it (which stuck off the front of the car to give him a little edge!) Ethan loved helping Jer put it on the track and run down to the end to pick it back up. Jer even won most of the races he was in. There was one little boy that won every race he was in and his car barely beat Jer's (what a shame). There's nothing like watching a bunch of 8-10 year olds and my husband running around excitedly because wood cars are flying down a track. Ahhh, boys! Jer even got an award...."The Classiest Car" award. What an exciting night.

Spotlight on My Hubby!
I thought on this beautiful, snowy LOVE day that I could give a little extra attention to my adoring husband. He is the best after all!
What's his name? Jeremy Taft Sorensen
How long have you been together? Well, this could be a difficult one to answer. We dated some in high school (I was a little obsessed with him and little did I know that he was the exact same way, he was just really good at hiding it!!), then cooled it off for a while but picked back up right before he went on his mission. We wrote each other his entire mission and when he got home we were pretty much inseparable!
How old is he? 27 years young and going strong.
Who said I love you first? I guess it depends on what you consider "saying" I love you, because in high school we would write notes to each other and at the end write "love"...but if we are actually only counting saying it, I would have to say that it was me, I was the one with the guts! After he got home from his mission we spent a ton of time together and we were both thinking it, but I was the one that took the first step and said it.
Who is taller? Jer likes to think that he towers over me, which he always mentions that I'm a "shorty", but he only says that when I don't have any shoes on and he has his manly tall church shoes on. But in reality he's only a couple inches taller than me....if that.
Who is smarter? Well that's not even a close comparison....he totally is. He knows a ton about so many things. He's a smart cookie!
Who does the laundry? I do. I think he's only done one or two loads the entire time we've been married. (but that's okay, I think it's better for our clothes that way!)
Who pays the bills? Unfortunately, I don't know a whole lot of what goes on with our finances. He pays all of the bills and does all of our transaction stuff. He discusses everything with me so I'm involved, but I don't do any of the actual paying.
Who mows the lawn? This is totally Jer's forte. He mows the lawn then goes back and puts cross hatched marks in it so that it looks really good. (I believe there's even a story from when he was younger that he mowed and A in his parents lawn because the Braves were in the World Series. Go figure!)
Who cooks dinner? I pretty much do....when I get around to it (unfortunately I consistently get dinner on the table after seven o'clock every night). But I must say that Jer makes a mean pan of mac and cheese!
Who drives when you are together? It's about sixes who drives. He doesn't mind me driving because he says that I am one of the only women drivers that actually knows how to drive. But he still has his gentlemanly moments when he wants to drive his wife and family around. Plus if it's snowy out he likes to drive because he intentionally tries to spin out (and other such juvenile things!)
Who is more stubborn? No contest, me!! I think perhaps in another life I was possibly a red head! But he's a sweetheart and he knows how to "handle" me when I get all stubborn-like.
Who kissed who first? Yet again, we both knew that we wanted to kiss, but nobody would take the initiative. Until one night after a double date with Shayn Bowler and his date (I forget who the girl was) we stood on my front porch for like an hour or something talking and trying to basically talk the other person into making the first move. Then it finally happened. Poor Shayn and his date....they kept driving around the neighborhood the whole time until we got the guts to get it over with. ( I still feel bad!)
Who has more siblings? He does. He has five siblings and I only have one.
Who wears the pants in the family? I like to think that I do because he always admits that I'm right about everything. But now that I think about it, I think that he quietly and understatedly wears the pants and lets me think that I do. Man, what a smart guy!
That's my hubby in a nutshell. There's is so many other wonderful things I could say about him, but here are just some highlights!
