Sorensen Vacation

This last weekend we took off to Strawberry Reservoir and laid back for a few days with the Sorensen clan (thanks to Mara and her grandparents suh-weet cabin!!) There was so much room even with all of us there. We played games, talked, went fishing, and I think the highlight of the trip was the wiggle car races. Yep, all of us raced...even my MIL and FIL, which by the way was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. It was tons of fun!!

Look how fun they are!

I'm still impressed by the stiff arms that they are throwing each other!

I totally kicked Jer's trash!

Fall Pictures

I thought it was LONG overdue to have some family pictures done. So I asked our good friend Kristen Bowler if she would take them for us. So we headed up Butterfield Canyon to take advantage of the Fall leaves and the nice weather that is said to be leaving tomorrow. I think she did a great job and she had them edited and burned on a CD and back to me the same day!! What service! Thanks Kristen!
Here are some of my favorites.

"You Better Run!"

"You Better Run" is a game that we made up (it took real genius) and is quickly becoming a favorite around our house.

Things needed to play: An over-zealous three year old that thinks it's fun to get hit with stuff, a ball that is pretty soft and squishy so as to not hurt the aforementioned three year old, a consenting adult that thinks it's funny to throw said ball at the running said three year old.

How to play: So Ethan takes his mark in the family room and does his best impression of a track runner in their starting launch position. Then we say "YOU BETTER RUN!" at which point Ethan tears off down the hall. We, the adults, then take our aim and throw our best attempt to peg him with the ball as he is galloping towards safety (his room). The entire time Ethan is giddily laughing so hard that he gets the running machine gun farts**. It's a win-win game. Ethan gets his exercise and thinks it's hilarious to be hit with a ball and we get some much needed therapy from hanging out with a three year old that never stops asking questions all day. See? Win-win!

~Fun summer version of the game: instead of using a soft, squishy ball...replace with water balloon and move the game outside. This small change makes for even more hours of family time pleasure!

**Gas that is released in little spurts while one is running or exercising, much like a machine gun would release bullets.

Can't Say We Didn't Try

Yesterday we took a couple of hours and went to Gardner Village to get all of the grandkids pictures taken with a cute Easter background and bunnies. Let's just say that it didn't work out so well. (the first picture is the same that the photographer took....not so good) But then after that we went off on our own and took some pictures and things got better. We even got a few really cute ones of my niece, Aniston. There is just something about strangers trying to take your child's picture that seems to completely freak them out, but as soon as we get them alone and we are the ones taking the pictures they relax and act natural. Now the only problem is that we need to learn how to use our camera so that the pictures we take look professional. Good luck to us!

My Boys

I may be slightly biased, but I think this scene is the cutest I've ever seen. Boston was born October 27, 2007 at 5:43 PM. He weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces. He has a ton of hair and we can already tell he has an awesome personality. To see how excited, but how gentle Ethan was with Boston right after he was born was so sweet. I think he was a little disappointed when he first saw Boston because he didn't come out big enough to wrestle with. But other than that, Ethan really liked him. He also likes how everyone tells him that Boston looks just like him...which he does!
Isn't Jer the cutest Daddy!! Ahhh....I love my boys.
