Graduation
Caution: This isn't a warm, fuzzy, feel good post. It makes me grumpy just thinking about it, but I thought I should document it. Now that it has been almost a week, I can finally post these pictures and talk about Ethan's pre-school graduation without being completely irritated. It was held at the library in a meeting room. The boy was a stinker to say the least. He didn't want to wear his cap....he didn't want to sit next to the other kids....he didn't want to get up and sing the song they had prepared....he didn't want to let me hold his candy bar that he was given so that he could continue to be involved in the graduation. I had to remove him from the room three different times while he was crying and whining over one thing or another while all the other kids were happy and content to be there. All, by the way, was caught on at least five different parents video cameras. Needless to say, I was livid. He had talked about this graduation for a couple of days and was so excited to go. A few hours before it was to take place he started preparing his outfit and how his hair looked (yes, he is a boy....no that's not normal). I don't know what happened between the hair preparation and the actual graduation, but he didn't act like himself and I was embarrassed at his behavior. The highlight of the whole thing was really cute though. Right at the end all the kids threw their caps in the air and I must say that he thoroughly excelled at that particular moment! Thank goodness that is behind us and I can pretty much guarantee that he will be much better at the next graduation!!
